The Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) Calls for Papers on "INTERDEPENDENCE: DEVELOPING THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE OF URBAN SUSTAINABILITY"
CCDC proud to offer this Call for Papers solicitation for "Sustainable Best Practice Design Solutions for Urban Buildings, Open Spaces, and the Public Realm in Dense Urban Settings." This effort is in collaboration with the San Diego Chapters of the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Urban Land Institute. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2008.

Upjohn Research Initiative Call for Submissions - deadline September 1, 2008
AIA Research Initiatives include the Upjohn Research Initiative, which matches base funds for applied research projects that advance professional practice, and the RFP Research Program, in which the AIA awards up to 10 grants of $7,000 each for selected projects. This grant qualifies recipients to have their findings and outcomes published both electronically in the AIA Soloso online database and in a nationally distributed publication: The American Institute of Architects Report on University Research. 2008 recipients of this grant include the Design for Aging Knowledge Community and Constance Bodurow, Assoc. AIA. of the Regional and Urban Design Committee Knowledge Community.

Diversity Recognition Program
This program celebrates and invites the contributions of AIA members toward the goal of a more diverse profession. Up to twelve submissions will be selected annually to be recognized as Diversity Best Practices. All individuals submitting a proposal must sign the waiver/release form. Electronic submissions are preferred and should be sent to diversity@aia.org. Hard copy submissions may be sent to:
